Nancy Roberts-Brown has served as the Director of Catalyst for Kids, a statewide partnership of private and public stakeholders who collaborate to advance strategic reforms of the child welfare system, since 2005. Under her leadership, Catalyst has initiated groundbreaking work in the area of birth parent advocacy and has contributed to statewide efforts to address racial disproportionality in the child welfare system. As staff to the King County Disproportionality Coalition, Nancy was instrumental in producing the Coalition's 2008 statewide Disproportionality Symposium and she provide leadership in developing the Coalition's Race Equity Analysis Tool In 2010, Nancy was honored to be the recipient of the Children's Alliance Voices for Children Award.
Prior to joining Catalyst for Kids, Nancy worked for several years with the Alliance for Education, generating support for the Seattle Public Schools' efforts to close the achievement gap. Much of her earlier career focused on the area of adoption, first as the Children's Administration Program Manager for Adoption and Adoption Support, and later in several leadership capacities with Medina Children's Services.
Nancy earned a Bachelor's Degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Education from Washington State University.
