The Chemical Dependency Professional: Issues in Diversity and Workforce Planning (October 2011)
Chemical dependency professionals (CDPs) form the cornerstone of alcohol and drug treatment services in Washington State. This research brief highlights findings related to CDPs from a 2009 survey conducted by the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery. The findings underscore the need for policy makers, treatment providers, and other professionals involved in CDP workforce planning to address disparities in gender, race/ethnicity, and compensation, plus the challenge posed by health care reform.
