Social Service Payment System - SSPS

The Department of Social and Health Services uses SSPS to pay for a variety of services that facilitate employment, increase independence, and protect children, the fragile elderly, and disabled children and adults.

SSPS is used to provide authorization and payment processing for services delivered to DSHS clients. This mission-critical system is used by more than 4,800 case workers in administrations across DSHS including: Economic Services Administration, Aging and Disability Services Administration, Children's Administration, and Medical Assistance Administration.

SSPS combines the best of Microsoft's newer technology and the power of mainframe processing. This combination of technologies provides the State of Washington with the ability to pay over 79,000 social service providers more than $1.8 billion annually in services to more than 299,000 clients.

**** DO YOU RECEIVE PAYMENT BY DIRECT DEPOSIT? ****

The Department of Enterprise Services is Going Green!!

As part of their continuing commitment to conserve and protect resources, The Department of Enterprise Services has implemented programming changes that have stopped their system from mailing the courtesy deposit date notifications for Direct Deposit SSPS payments. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT DELIVERY OF YOUR PAYMENTS OR THE DATES THEY ARE PROCESSED.

All providers who receive Direct Deposit payments will continue to receive their Electronic Funds Transfer Remittance Advice (payment detail breakdown) through the postal mail a few days after their Direct Deposit has been made. The Remittance Advice is the official payment document from SSPS.

If you have Direct Deposit, and would like to sign up for electronic deposit notification, please email SSPS with your name, SSPS Provider/Payee number, or SWV number, and the email address you would like us to use. Our email address for Customer Service is: DSHSSSPSWEB@dshs.wa.gov.

Remember, the deposit notification is NOT the official pay record; it is only a courtesy message. Your payments will not be affected by the change from the Department of Enterprise Services.

If you would like to sign up for Direct Deposit, please follow the link on the left menu bar for information and application forms. If you have additional questions about Direct Deposit, call SSPS Customer Service at (360) 664-6161 (select the SSPS menu option) or email us at DSHSSSPSWEB@dshs.wa.gov.
