CR-101 FILED TO PROPOSE ADDING & AMENDING
SECTIONS TO CHAPTER 388-101 WAC
Dear Certified Community Residential Service Provider and Interested Parties:
The department is considering adding and amending sections to Chapter 388-101 WAC, Certified Community Residential Services and Supports. The enclosed CR-101 document was recently filed with the Office of the Code Reviser.
The CR-101 document can also be found on the Aging & Disability Services Administration (ADSA) internet website at http://www.adsa.dshs.wa.gov/professional/crs.htm under “CRS Rule Filings.”
The department is adding and amending sections to Chapter 388-101 WAC to comply with Second Substitute Senate Bill (SSSB) 5459, an act relating to services for people with developmental disabilities. The law requires the department to establish state-staffed crisis stabilization beds to provide crisis stabilization services to Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) clients whose behavior jeopardizes the safety and stability of their current living situation.
Because crisis stabilization providers will be state employees, new and amended sections to regulate those providers will not result in any new or revised requirements for current certified community residential services providers.
However, amendments to other sections are being considered for purposes of protecting client health and safety and will apply to current certified community services and support providers.
Please check the ADSA website often as we will be posting draft language for review and comment before filing the CR-102.
Sincerely,
Joyce Pashley Stockwell, Director
Residential Care Services
