BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Forensic Navigator Program is administered by the Behavioral Health Administration and is designed to support people navigating the state's community-based competency evaluation services and outpatient restoration programs.
The Forensic Navigator Program serves people who are ordered to be evaluated for competency to stand trial. This includes people who are deemed not competent to stand trial and ordered to receive inpatient restoration services; those who have their charges dismissed after a finding of non-competence; those who are removed from outpatient restoration services; and those who are restored to competency and are connected to a case manager with a community-based behavioral health agency.
