Job Retention Service are captured using the BR component in eJAS and is an activity designed to help employed participants achieve satisfactory job performance, retain employment, and increase wages over time. The participant must have secured new employment or received a promotion or increase in wages due to new or additional responsibilities while participating in BFET activities. Increase in number of hours the participant is employed does not qualify the participant for Job Retention Services. Job Retention Services is used when the participant’s Basic Food Assistance closes or when the employed participant chooses not to continue Job Search Training, Supervised Job Search, Basic Education, English Language Acquisition, Integrated Education Training, Vocational Education, or Subsidized and Non-Subsidized Work Based Learning activities beyond their new employment.
Participants can engage in Life Skill activity while participating in Job Retention Services. Employment must be verified each month while active in Job Retention Services. The participant must have participated in other BFET activities in the last 30 days. It can include the following activities:
• Counseling
• Coaching
•Case management and
• Participant reimbursements
Participants must agree to participate for at least 30 days, up to a maximum of 90 days, which can be consecutive or cumulative.
