“It really touched my heart to see both parents enjoying the interaction with their son through technology - despite the outbreak,” said Knust.
Alecia Knust, a care provider through Puget Sound Regional Services, recently went out of her way to assist a client who is deaf and autistic.
The client typically sees his parents often, but for safety reasons posed by the coronavirus, they could not visit him. His parents missed him terribly and reached out to Alecia to see if they could talk to him on FaceTime.
Alecia worked to get him to sit down next to her and she called his mom and dad. Alecia hoped he could pay attention to the phone and understand the concept of having a conversation through technology and he did. She said she was amazed to see him engaging through the device.
