“Although some of the elements and the location of the tournament are changing, it will continue some of the traditions, which include involvement of nonprofits,” said Julia Jordan, president and CEO of the Auburn Area Chamber.

Slick Watts, a former NBA player for the Seattle Supersonics, established the nonprofit Watts Foundation that leverages sports for the enrichment of youth. Its programs help youth to develop leadership skills, academic prowess and high integrity.

MENTOR Washington was founded as a public-private partnership by corporate leaders and the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) in 2004. This public-private partnership supports nearly 100 local organizations across the state that provide quality mentoring, which fosters positive youth development and academic success.

“We are excited about bringing together youth and adults to participate in positive activities while also getting the word out that there are many youth in our community who are waiting to be matched with a mentor,” said Kelly McKee, executive director of MENTOR Washington.

The tournament is for everyone - all ages and abilities. Divisions range from second grade to adult, including an elite division and a celebrity game. Each division winner will be recognized with prizes and awards.

Admission is free for spectators. There will be a variety of activities, booths and interactive fun.
