For Sign Language Interpreters

All interpreters must register or renew for Fiscal Year 2025, which runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. 

If you already renewed for FY25, your application will be approved as long as you are in good standing and have a clean background check.

If you have NOT renewed yet, please email us at signlanguageinterpreters@dshs.wa.gov and we will reach out to you once we have the system updated. 

Register/Renew with ODHH. Once you are approved, you are eligible to receive work through any of our contracted agencies (Click here for agencies' information). You must onboard with at least one of these agencies to receive work. Rates are established by ODHH and are not negotiable. Agencies are required to follow the State’s contract terms and conditions.

For ODHH to approve you, we need your DSHS background result, your initial, approved RID/BEI certification, and your registration/renewal application. ODHH will not run your background application if we do not have your certification on file. Email a copy of your certification to signlanguageinterpreters@dshs.wa.gov. Your rates are based on your initial certification date and years of experience, so we must have a clear, official proof of this. We do not accept RID membership cards as proof of initial certification date.
