Refugee Health Screening
Washington’s Refugee Health Screening program, in partnership with local health jurisdictions, health providers, and refugee resettlement agencies, provides a comprehensive health screening exam to all new refugees.
The purpose of the health exam is to:
- Follow up on any conditions identified in the overseas medical examination.
- Identify and treat persons with communicable diseases to reduce the spread of infectious disease.
- To identify conditions that may adversely impact a person’s ability to become economically stable.
