Outreach

Outreach is a requirement under Executive Order 22-01, DES Policy 090-06 and DSHS Administrative Policy 13-27 to promote equity in public spending. It helps ensure that small, diverse, and veteran-owned businesses have equitable access to contracting opportunities.

At DSHS, we are committed to this effort by:

  • Attending events and forums to connect with vendors.
  • Sharing information about upcoming contracting opportunities.
  • Providing resources to help vendors navigate the process.
  • Encourage them to register in WEBS (Washington Electronic Business Solution) and get certify through OMWBE (Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises.

In recent years, DSHS has participated in key outreach events, including:

  • Alliance Northwest in 2022, 2023, and 2024, with plans to attend again on March 19-20, 2025.
  • Regional Contracting Forum in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
  • DES Washington Procurement Connect in 2024.
